Pelonis disc ceramic furnace
Very satisfactory for area heating. I use in front of my sliding glass patio door which is on the north facing wall of my home. I have owned one of these disc furnaces since in the 1980s. My original furnace is working still. I ordered a second one to use in my bathroom.

Do not buy this heater or any other Pelonis product
Do not buy this heater or any Pelonis product. I bought this heater two months ago. I turned this heater on and it burned my linoleum floor. I tried calling the number on their web site and it just rings and rings. I sent an email to them and I have not received a response.
I bought the same model twenty years ago and was extremely happy with it. Comparing it with the new model there is no comparison. The new one is built really cheap and flimsy. The are lots of plastic parts with the new one. My old was made in the USA while the new one now made in China. :2010-09-15 12:16:36
worth replacing
As a long time pelonis owner I replaced it with a new pelonis that is very much like the original. The first one lasted at least 15 years. It would have been senseless to replace it with something inferior. We use it in conjunction with central heat to keep the central heat from warming up areas we are not occupying. Good heat output
I put this unit in my sons room the coldest room in the house to supplement for a wood stove in the living room. It raises the temp in a 12 by 14 room by 5 degrees in about 20 minutes. It cycles on and off and is very cheap to run. I am pleased and will be buying more for my shop and to have on hand as a back up heat source. :2010-09-15 12:16:35
